Liveability Focus to Lead 2023 Queensland Transport Infrastructure Conference

The 12th Annual Queensland Transport Infrastructure Conference arrives in Brisbane on the 23rd and 24th of May 2023. The two-day event will focus on the future of Queensland’s transport network, that will be transformed to align with the State Government’s commitment to prioritise local jobs, sustainability, community safety and wellbeing.
“Transport Infrastructure for a Liveable State” is the theme of the conference and follows a massive funding boost for the sector, spurred by Queensland’s increasing population, and the demands this is placing on the transport system.
A record investment of $29.7 billion in road and transport infrastructure at the recent budget will help the Government deliver the vital infrastructure necessary to improve transport options, road safety, freight movement and a sustainable system aiming towards zero emissions.
Over two days, expert speakers at the conference will provide the latest information on the significant transport infrastructure projects shaping the State, including Inland Rail, Cross River Rail and at Brisbane Airport.
Managers overseeing the design, construction, and delivery of major transport infrastructure projects in Queensland, including from the Department of Transport and Main Roads and the private sector, will address delegates about projects including Brisbane Metro, Bruce Highway Upgrade Section D (Gympie bypass), Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3A, and Stage 5 of the Townsville Ring Road project.
The conference will also feature two expert panels to discuss important issues in the sector: the significance of sustainable transport infrastructure design and construction, and road safety.
While keynote presentations will acknowledge current infrastructure across roads, rail, freight, aviation and ports, the conference will also highlight important regional topics, providing attendees with an inclusive, holistic picture of the industry.
